![]() I even wrote a few popular and well received class guides for aion back in the day cause I had max leveled so many different classes, over and over every time there was a lvl cap bump lol. I love aion, and wasnt bothered much by the class imbalance since I usually had one of every class at max level anyways, and there was enough room for skill expression for class imbalance not to matter too much but Aion definitely had very bad class imbalance issues. Cleric had way better heals both party wide and single target, AND more CC, AND more range, AND a lot more DPS, AND a lot better survivability, AND a much larger and more flexible skill kit. There was literally no point in playing a chanter over a cleric, even for it's unique party buffs because they werent useful enough. I think the worst offender though is cleric, they have probably been the single most op class in aion for most of it's existence, it literally does everything chanter does way better (until chanter got buffed enough times in a row then the final massive buffs in 5.x). Gunner eventually got nerfed but songweaver. Lets not forget how busted gunner and songweaver were on release, they were disgusting op, especially gunner. ![]() ![]() Sorc and sm used to be completly busted until msupp was introduced, and sm got enough nerfs. Templars were really up and down, really bad in early patches but at some point they became broken and stupid op. Rangers are another good example, they were busted until like 4.x and after that they got worse and worse every patch, to the point where they offered nothing good, and had poor dps too to boot, there were at many points were TEMPLARS, the TANK class had higher dps at end game. It took until what, 4.x until they became viablish? Even then it wasnt great until 5.x, but by then the game was already ruined. Chanter for example was a trash and pointless class for years. Lmao what? class balance has always been busted in aion. You guys can give me as much non-consensual pvp as much as you guys want, no safe word needed. Most importantly, to the guy asking do I really want non-consensual pvp? The answer is yes. Im sure it will suck here but Im also used to it and like it to some degree (until it gets really bad). Im kinda used to rng progression systems, like in aion, bdo and maplestory, I have sort of a love/hate relationship with it. Im also glad to see that the p2w isnt bad, and fairly minimal. I also read that class balance changes a lot as you get closer to end game because some classes take time to ramp up. The class balance issues sound like a problem but I've also read that the devs change class balance a lot and the meta shifts very often. Im sure the population feels less than it is because there must have been tons of people around launch time. Just remember folks, people were saying bdo was dying and had no population for a long time, only weeks after launch. Will definitely give elyon a try, especially cause this community seems great and there's nothing for me to lose but my time playing a f2p game. I can't reply to all the messages here so I thought I should make this edit instead. How about Elyon, how's Elyon doing? Trying to decide if I should skip and wait for lost ark, or invest a little time into elyon if it has promise.ĮDIT: Thanks for all the helpful responses! I'm surprised I got so many good ones and am continuing to get more. My past favorite, Aion, is near dead and filled with P2W. Last I checked PSO new genesis has issues cause of it's economy system. Swords of legend was good but marred by a bad translation, lack of advertising, and now dwindling player base.
